Laser Guided Docking System Installation Instructions
Installing the DT-24 Reflective Docking Targets
Position the centers of the DT-24 reflective docking targets level and in line with the laser generators when the vessel is at rest and facing the docking targets. Your vessel should be in a nominal position within your slip or docking space while you mount your DT-24 docking targets. use the rommets to help support and fasten the targets to a wall, backdrop, rope support or wooden frame. Face the red (reflective) side towards the laser light beam. This helps keep the lasers “on the target” as the vessel approaches the dock. Place more targets side to side for more docking and maneuvering range. (See illustration C and G)

Installing the L650 Bow Laser Crosshair Generator
(illustration A) The L650 Laser Crosshair Generator is installed on the bow of the vessel straight in line with the keep (illustration A). Using the AP94 mounting hardware, rotate the L650 Laser Crosshair Generator so that the horizontal laser line of the crosshair is level with the surface of the water when the vessel is at rest.

Illustration C

Use the leve vial included to check the level of the L650 Laser Crosshair Generator housing (illustration B). Next, center the L650′s laser crosshair with the vessel’s keel by standing on the centerline of the vessel at the stern and viewing the bow and projected laser crosshair on the DT-24 docking target together (illstration C).
Illustration D
The DT-24 Reflective Docking Target or equivalent should be mounted level and centered at the same height as the L650 Laser Crosshair Generator for best viewing at all distances (illustration D). Remember, as the vessel approaches the docking target the crosshair image will shrink in size but should remain visible on the docking target unless the bow of the vessel veers to port or starboard of the docking target. AS long as the laser crosshair is centered within the docking target, the bow of the vessel is centered within the docking slip.

Installing the L660 Stern Laser Line Generator
The L660 Stern Laser Line Generator is mounted using the AP94 mounting hardware. Mount the laser line generator on the stern of the vessel on the same side as the helm. On center console helms, the laser line generator can be mounted on either port or starboard side. Make sure the stern laser light projection path is free of obstructions before mounting. Adjust the laser line generator so that the laser line as viewed on the DT-24 docking target is vertical (plumb) and level with the surface of the water. Use the level vial included to check the level of the L660 Stern Laser Line Generator housing (illustration E).
Illustration F
Note: The DT-24 Reflective Docking Target should be mounted centered and level with the same height as the L660 Stern Laser Line Generator for best viewing at all distances (illustration F).
Illustration G
Measure the distance from the center of the laser beam to the center line of the vessel (illustration G). Do this at the stern where the laser is mounted and again at the bow where the laser line shoots past the vessel. Adjust the L660 Stern Laser Line Generator so that the distance at the stern and bow are equal. This will assure that the laser is mounted parallel to the center line of the vessel. Remember, The closer that the two laser generators are mounted to the eye level of the observer, the brighter the reflected laser images will be.
